Valentine’s Day is nearly here. Already. I know.
Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the day, as I truly believe it’s just an over-commercialized holiday meant to reach into everyone’s pockets. BUT HEY! I like to take it as an opportunity to tell my loved ones that I love ’em. I love ’em a whole lot.
And you don’t have to spend a fortune to do that. This past weekend I got together with a couple of my designer friends and created some handmade Valentine’s Day Cards.
My kitchen looked like an atomic bomb exploded inside of a scrapbook store. Glitter and all. It was glorious.
I’m also a firm believer that “a party without cake is just a meeting” (Julia Child). So naturally, I took the opportunity to whip up some delicious red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries! Yum!
We gathered up some fun inspiration before we began creating our own cards. Here were some of our favorites:
I also found an awesome DIY tutorial on how to make your own Scratch-Off Valentine’s Cards! Check it out:

Our handmade cards turned out splendidly. And fun was had by all. I think we’ve even dubbed this a yearly tradition. So get your gals together and plan a Valentine Card party! You won’t regret it.
